Bernedoodles

A Bernedoodle (miniature or standard) is crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog and a miniature or standard Poodle. These are designer breeds that are bred for a specific purpose. The advantage of a carefully planned mixed breed is that you get the added advantage of a phenomenon called “hybrid vigor”.  This process shuffles new combinations of genes that helps to increase longevity and decrease the usual ailments that impact many purebred dogs such as various forms of inherited types of cancer. The bernedoodles are super healthy and are not as prone to the same issues that purebred Bernese mountain dogs and purebred poodles are.  As a result, you have a family member for a lot longer and that will live a vibrant and healthy life if properly cared for. Poodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs are extraordinary breeds in their own right. We prefer the Bernedoodle as they get the best of both breeds, incredibly loyal, smart, playful, intelligent, and has one of the best dog personalities we have seen in a family dog.  The Bernedoodle is a low- to mostly non-shedding dog and a very good option for those with dog allergies.
